I was recently asked to participate in a charity event for Chair-ish benefiting Kids On The Block with a cocktail supper and auction featuring chairs and clever chair-themed art by local and nationally acclaimed artists.

I am THRILLED and honored to be a part of it... but to top it off, my chair was on TV!!

You know, sometimes I forget just WHY I paint all the time. Sometimes I start thinking "Why am I painting these little trinkets ALL the time?! What for?!"

And then I was reminded yesterday by someone who was looking at all the little paintings and doodles I've done. He said "You know, sometimes I forget that there is just JOY in art."

I think that pretty much explains it. That is the real reason I do it.

NEW WORK at Hot & Cold

Well, it's almost here... the opening of Hot & Cold in Hillsboro Village next to Fido. I was lucky enough to do a coffee label for them, and then I was able to help curate the show that's up in the new store. I got to meet some amazing artists and hang awesome work! Below is some of my pieces... go see them at Hot & Cold and do yourself a favor- get the scoop of ice cream in a shot of espresso. It's amazing!

Behold- the layout for my Hot and Cold coffee can! It's the newest venture from Bongo Java, so you know it's going to be awesome. AND there will be a show, too- the can artists will have some cool art up. I'll keep people posted!

Slow on paintings, but a new one

Well, I have been taking a little break, but I am back on track. Here is a new image. Just a small wood piece. It's about 2 inches across, and 3 or so down. My awesome husband got me all sorts of different sizes of wood pieces and I love them! It's been great to learn how to "work small" and keep a very steady hand.

Billups has opened their doors to allow us a Nashville flood victims Benefit artshow for this SAT, and he needs to know what artists are interested in donating. As of now the show is planned for this SAT at billups art gallery in East Nashville at 7pm. I will be there EARLY to collect, hang and set up but we need volunteers to help. Please donate and spread the word!!!!

100% of the money raised will go to the Nashville Red Cross chapter.
